Each year in the United States, about 255,000 cases of breast cancer are diagnosed in women and about 2,300 in men. Most of us know someone who has been impacted by breast cancer. In October, organizations and individuals come together to raise awareness about breast cancer. Although deaths from breast cancer have declined over time, it remains the second leading cause of cancer death overall among women (skin cancer is the first) and the leading cause of cancer death among Hispanic women.
