We’re keeping abreast of the coronavirus diagnosis in the Greece Central School of a District employee, and the subsequent closing of schools in Monroe County.

For everyone’s safety, and based on information available as of now, we ask that all employees with a child in the Greece school district to stay home and not to come to work until further notice. We ask that all Operations team members with children in the Greece School district to call 242-1021 as soon as possible and leave a message with your name and the region you’re working in and that you have children in the Greece school district. Employees in IT or other departments with children in Greece, please notify your supervisor as soon as possible that you will not be in on Monday.

For anyone else impacted by the closing of their school outside of the Greece school system who now have childcare issues and are unable to work Monday, please  notify us of your status.  Operations personnel – call 242-1021, leave your name, the region you are working in, and the fact that your child’s school has been closed and you do not have childcare for them. For other personnel please contact your supervisor. We will work to set up work-from-home situations for all those impacted by mid-week.

As you know we will be implementing procedures for working remotely for all employees.  We will send future communications as these plans are finalized.

Any employees not able to work in the office due to the closing of schools and the need to provide childcare will be paid with no impact to PTO or occurrences. Once we have the infrastructure in place for people working remote, we will revisit this policy.

All other team members who are feeling healthy, please report to the office so that we can continue to care for our customers.

I know you’ve heard it before, but I can’t stress enough the importance of washing your hands, staying home when you’re sick, and avoiding touching your face.

As things unfold over the weekend, there may be further announcements. We will keep you updated of additional developments. If you have any questions about your personal circumstances, please leave a message for Michelle Halloran at 242-1002 and she will get back to you.

Thank you for being flexible as we all adapt to these new developments in our community together.
